Bridgeport Community Centre - Jan 31 & Feb 1, 2026

Four jam-packed workshops wrapped up January and launched February at the Bridgeport Community Centre, and it felt like the perfect Canadian winter’s day. The outdoor rink was buzzing with hockey players, Tim Hortons cups were everywhere, and bright sunlight sparkled off the snow and poured through the windows.

Inside, the energy was just as bright. Enthusiastic weavers, including a few returning from earlier workshops, shaped deep-red and grey-green willow birds, made new friends, and stayed fuelled on brown-butter miso Rice Krispie squares. By the end, we’d flocked together to weave about 60 birds for the project. That brings our total to around 150 - with more workshops still to come!
